 On this page we can only show you a few basics to start working with the program.

After installation of Kronen-Design you start the program and in the middle the left screen for opening a template. In our example we want to print a CD-label and a small rectangle label for the CD-box.

Therefore please click at in the templates window on CD/DVD labels and then on2CD label full disk. You will see the corresponding template opening.

We start with the upper CD-label. In order to make work more simple please click on this   magnifying button on the left side, hold the left mouse button pressed and drag a rectangle around the circle including the crosses on the left top and right bottom of the circle. Release the mouse button and the circle will increase to the size of the working area. You can do the same by clicking on the magnifying tool and then in the middle of the circle as many times as you need to enlarge it.

Now we produce a rounded text. Please click on the

rounded text button and by holding the left mouse button pressed drag a circle starting from the upper left up to the lower right. If you start on the marked crosses the circle will be centred in the label. At the same time a text field opens where you can now enter the desired text (in our case “Diese ist ein Test”). In case the text field does not appear, simply click on the black T-symbol in the tool bar above.

Now you can format the text by selecting the font and the size. In our example we have chosen Arial 30. If you click on the red T with the colour pot on the above tool bar you can select another colour.

If you just need the standard colours you can also just click with the left mouse button on the colour table at the bottom of the program. By clicking with the right mouse button on this colour table you can change the background text.

We will add a picture to the label. Please click on the

 image button. Then you drag a rectangle more or less in the size you want to have the picture. At this moment please do not care about the exact size and position as you can arrange this later. A new window opens and now you can select the desired image and some options. After clicking on OK the image will be inserted in the design. Click on the picture in the design so that it is activated which means surrounded by a red line. (Attention: if you want to change a picture, text or other object you always must make sure that the object is activated and surrounded by the red lines! Only then you can change it!) Now hold the picture with the left mouse button and you can drag it to the desired position. You can also change the size by dragging from one of the corners. In this case it will change proportionally, if you drag at the sides it will not be proportionally.

Now we have positioned the picture correctly. Above the picture we draw a rectangle by clicking on the rectangle button on the left side, keeping the left mouse button pressed and drawing a rectangle in the size of the label and slightly overlapping with the picture. After releasing the mouse button we click with the right mouse button on the blue colour in the colour bar at the bottom and the background colour changes accordingly. Having done this you will see that the rectangle has covered the text now. We have to move the rectangle in the background and the text in front. This we can do easily by clicking on the toolbar on the top on the symbol with a yellow square which is covered by two squares. After clicking it the text will automatically appear again.

There are of course many more design possibilities which we cannot all explain here. Please just test it and look in the quickstart manual in the INFO menu of the program. 

After having made some simple design we will now show you how prepare the printing process.

Before you print on the original label paper you should print it on normal paper to check the settings. Please click on the printer button in the tool bar and a settings window opens. Very important here is the function clipping. As papers are never 100% exactly cut you should at least leave 1-2mm additional printing area around the label. With the clipping function you can decide how big the printing area around the label should be. In our example we have set it to 2mm. Now please make a test print on normal paper and hold it behind the original paper against light to check, if the label print fits exactly to the label cut of the original paper. If not you can adjust the print vertically or horizontally by clicking on the respective buttons.

At the end of this short lesson we will show you how to design and rotate text on the small rectangular labels (but the same is also valid for designing booklets and inlays).

At first you increase the strip with the magnifying button as explained above. Then you click on the A text button in the left tool bar and drag a rectangular more or less in the size of the strip. Now you enter the desired text. Then you use the turning buttons (rounded arrows on the top tool bar) to turn the text in the desired angle. 

Now you can drag the text to the right size, change colours etc. as described above.

This was just a first explanation of the very basic functions of the program. Please try also many other useful functions to add text and images and adapt and change them.

After a short learning phase you will see, that you can do much more than just designing labels.
